Founded in 2003 by Jennifer Maagendans & Jason Kent, Luna Yoga is an environmentally-conscious, community-based yoga studio nestled in the heart of Old Montreal. Offering active and dynamic Yoga Flo and Jivamukti classes, the studio houses a calm and welcoming atmosphere in which students are encouraged to explore and discover their yoga path.

Open 7 days a week, we aim to offer a unique approach to yoga that incorporates peace and joy into the invigorating and challenging Vinyasa-style (flow) practice. With an emphasis on breath awareness, alignment, and spiritual studies, our goal is to leave students with an overall sense of bliss and peace, partnered with a deep connection to the earth and to each other.

Yoga = union. Yoga is a spiritual practice that reminds us of the oneness of all beings. Practices include asanas (postures that enable the practitioner to gain greater flexibility, strength and coordination), pranayama (controlled breathing exercises) and meditation (focusing the mind's attention). The body and mind are challenged and used to come back to our natural state of peace and happiness.

The studio is open 7 days a week, boasting a vast selection of classes for students to choose from. Ashtanga, Hatha, and Jivamukti yoga classes are offered, as well as Thai Yoga Massage and specialized workshops. The team offers a kind and personal approach, allowing students to feel comfortable and at ease.

Bram Levinson
Bram Levinson
Bram Levinson is an author, yoga teacher, blogger, mentor and lecturer based in Montreal. An enthusiastic yogi since 1999, he began his Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with Darby, Shankara & Joanne. With additional training from Luna Yoga's Jennifer Maagendans, Bram incorporated all his experience on and off the mat into his yoga classes and workshops, which offer insight into alignment, breath awareness, philosophy, and the ability to use laughter to get through the more challenging postures, sequences, and moments in life. He is a Level 1 i®Rest Yoga Nidra Trained Teacher, as well as an Alumni Ambassador for the lululemon Ste Catherine St location. His yoga retreats bring students across the globe 2-3 times a year, with previous locations including Istanbul, Turkey, Mljet, Croatia, as well as Santorini and Paros in Greece. Bram is forever grateful to the Darbys, Jennifer Maagendans, Richard Miller, and Joan Ruvinsky, who initially offered illumination on his yogic path.

With a background in hip hop dance and competitive sport aerobics, Frances first began practicing yoga in 2006 when she started working for lululemon athletica. This became her new passion and way of life. To her, dance is very much an outward expression, whereas yoga offers an opportunity for self-reflection. In 2011, Frances completed her 300-hour Jivamukti training with Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York. In January 2013, she became a certified Advanced Jivamukti Teacher. She is also an alumni ambassador for lululemon athletica. Frances would like to extend humble thanks and gratitude to her first teachers, Yasmin and Jennifer, her gurus, Sharonji and Davidji, as well as her friends and family who have consistently and unfailingly supported and encouraged her along her path. She draws from experiences and relationships in all areas of her life to bring creativity, compassion and laughter to her classes.
Jennifer Maagendans
Jennifer Maagendans
Owner, Manager, Yoga Teacher Practicing yoga since 1996, Jennifer has a background in gymnastics and a degree in Environmental Studies from Concordia University. Her yoga practice began in a Hatha yoga class at the university gym and blossomed into continuous studies in Hatha, Ashtanga and Jivamukti yoga. As a yoga teacher, her classes challenge both body and mind, and encourage us to seek the divine within. Her teaching emphasises peace, happiness, and a strong connection to the earth. She has studied with many well-known teachers from around the world, including: Darby, David Life, Sharon Gannon and Bhagavan Das. She currently teaches at her studio Centre Luna Yoga in Old Montreal. Jennifer is a certified Jivamukti yoga teacher.
Tom Schabetsberger
Tom Schabetsberger
Tom is a yoga teacher, competitive runner, and fitness enthusiast. After completing his Can-Fit Pro Certification Course in 2007, he began looking for ways to increase his flexibility to complement his active lifestyle. He started practicing yoga in 2008 for its physical benefits and in 2009 he began deepening his practice as a means of finding balance, realizing the benefits are beyond physical. Since then he has completed his 200-hour Yoga Flo Certification at Centre Luna, and has decided to pursue his goal of becoming a fitness coach after attending Bram Levinson’s 2012 Yoga Retreat in Croatia. Health is an integral part of Tom’s lifestyle which is shown by his passion for fitness and his dedication to assisting others achieve their own goals.

  In keeping with the Jivamukti tradition, this class is comprised of dynamic Vinyasa (flow) sequences, hands-on adjustments, breath awareness, chanting, music, meditation, and relaxation. Basic experience is recommended.
  12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Yoga Flo 1
  A dynamic practice focusing on alignment and breath with postures taught as a slower flow series, appropriate for new students as well as experienced yogis.
