Sri Lakshmi Devi E-RYT
Senior YOGA Teacher Sri Lakshmi Devi E-RYT has been practicing for over 36 years. Trained under Swami Satchidananda (Sri Gurudev) founder of Integral Yoga. An esteemed spiritual leader honored with the Albert Schweitzer Humanitarian Award; dedicated his life to the cause of Peace, both individual and universal, and to religious harmony among all People. At an early age Lakshmi began exploring various disciplines of YOGA and spirituality. Her teaching journey began after she experienced a severe accident causing many long term injuries leading to a Triple Spinal surgery, Abdominal aneurysm repair, total Hip Replacement, Ankle surgery, bracing of her right Wrist, Thumb, Knee & left Shoulder, and debilitating Cervical and Lumbar damage causing constant pain, migraine headaches & depression. In 1991 Lakshmi embarked on her lifelong path to loving kindness with His Holiness the fourteenth Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso; In 1999 which includes in-depth studies on Depression and Human Behavior. Holding numerous Yoga, & Fitness certifications including the National Association of Sports Medicine; an advanced training degree from Mount Sinai Medical School in "Functional Anatomy of Movement for injuries & illnesses" and is a Certified Fitness Leader with the Arthritis and Osteoporosis Foundations of America. Lakshmi is a practicing Ordained Interfaith Minister, Reiki Master, Intuitive Empath and Spiritual Coach.

Sunday 8:00 am - 9:15 am Vinyasa Flow Yoga….begins 11/13/2011
  Actively paced…Ideal for students who practice regularly, seek clarity of key alignment principles and want to deepen their practice based on Supatha's unique ¼ series Surya Namaskar. A creative blend of back bends, inversions, standing, balancing and core postures, united with mindful breathing. Special attention to flow transition and structural positioning for proper range of motion…Guided Deep Relaxation techniques, Reiki Centering, Inspirational Reading & Silent Meditation.
 
Monday 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm Pilates Inspired-Strength, Tone & Sculpt
  A rhythmic practice of precise movements repeated eight to 13 times for each exercise, with a simultaneous emphasis on flow of movement. Focusing on targeted areas that develop core strength, using tension ring trainers, balls, versa bands and weighted body bars for greater resistance, range of motion and core isolation...Emphasis is on using the breath to channel intrinsic energy into the center of the body and out to the limbs to increase alignment awareness and injury prevention.
  6:00 pm - 7:00 pm THERAPEUTIC Yoga Flow
  Gentle but challenging…Lakshmi will guide you into specific postures and sequencing to promote spinal stability, strength and flexibility while protecting any per-existing condition. Helps heal back, joint & muscle injuries and weakness and increases Healthy Joint Range of Motion, Postural Alignment and Balance. This class incorporates the use of a chair and props for added support and comfort. (PREGNANT WOMEN WELCOME 12 weeks +)
  7:15 pm - 8:25 pm Iyengar Inspired…Hatha Flow
  A creative sequence of classic Hatha yoga postures with in-depth instruction and structural alignment cues. Active use of props, assists the body in creating proper positioning allowing you to go deeper into the pose, working in a range of motion that is safe and effective helping to prevent injury while challenging the boundaries of your strength...A comprehensive, balanced class with a steady flow; relaxation between postures, and guided breathing techniques throughout...all levels welcome
 
Wednesday 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm Pilates inspired-Strength, Tone & Sculpt

  Prolonged sitting, poor work habits and highly repetitive tasks often create spinal imbalance. Learn key alignment principles; breaking old destructive postural habits. Specific yoga sequencing helps prevent back pain & weakness, promoting spinal stability, strength & flexibility. Structural cues aid in protecting per-existing injuries; increases proper range of motion. If you currently under a Doctor care, please consult the instructor prior to participating in the class. All levels welcome

Providing new students or seasoned yogi’s tools to enhance the awareness of structural alignment, breath integration, ease of flow and injury prevention.   Active yoga props let you reach poses and stretch muscles you may not otherwise be able to; enhancing your yoga practice no matter what your level of fitness or flexibility. Lakshmi will instruct you on using a yoga mat on any surface, how to use a strap to get the results you may have been missing, the proper way to position a yoga block and the benefits of using blankets. Teaching you the fundamentals to get you started using props in the most effective way…
