Vanda Scaravelli was born in Florence, Italy. She studied yoga with B.K.S. Iyengar but developed her own style of yoga based on the natural principles of gravity and the breath. She wrote a book about the principles of the yoga she taught called Awakening the Spine.
Suggested by Cora Kemball-Cook a qualified yoga teacher with the British Wheel of yoga in 1999 and also qualified since then to be a diploma course tutor - to train students to be yoga teachers. Many of her teachers have come from the Scaravelli background of teaching which lays great emphasis on the breath and releasing tension in the body
