Isha Yoga

Yoga exercises both the mind and the body, for a healthy mind leads to a healthy body. However, the different styles of yoga also have different goals. The goal of Isha yoga is to help a person become increasingly better with time until one reaches the best one could possibly be. The Isha Foundation seeks to inspire and cultivate the desire of a person to be reach self-actualization and his full potential.

Isha Yoga History

The great founder, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, developed Isha Yoga which aims to help people achieve their full potentials by looking within themselves, and not through zealous following of scriptures of books of wisdom. With that, he established Isha Foundation, which is a non-profit organization, which has over two million volunteers. The Isha Foundation has at least two million volunteers worldwide, and the headquarters can be found in Velliangiri Mountains in Southern India and Cumberland Plateau, Tennessee, United States.

Aside from reaching our full potential, the Foundation understands that each and every one of us can help inspire another person and help restore the world through the community’s help in transforming the lives of others.

Isha Yoga Aim and Practice

The aim of Isha Yoga is to help people achieve full potential, and they employ ancient tools of yoga that are known to be influential and potent. The yogic tools help the person to reach the zenith of their mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, and if it is reached, the person experiences the acceleration of inner growth, which then permits a person to reach within themselves and draw out their maximum potential. Inner energy processes, or kriya, are used at the start of the introductory programs of Isha Yoga.

Isha Yoga Introductory Programs

Isha Yoga offers three types of introductory programs, which are tailor fit for beginners. The first program, which is their flagship, is Inner Engineering. This is a seven-day program that helps you to synthesize holistic sciences. This involves meditation, breathing and Shambhavi Mahamudra, a specific program unique to Isha Yoga. Members of the class undergo an inner foundation and vision for the different sections of life, and help you create a necessary equilibrium between the franticness of lives and the desire for peace.

The second program is an Inner Engineering Retreat, which lasts four days, requiring the participants to stay in the Isha Yoga Center. It is done twice a month, and allows the members to relax and take notice of the beauty of nature. Finally, for those who cannot get away from busy schedules, there is also an online program, the Inner Engineering Program which you can follow in the comfort of your own home.
